The third annual Wag ‘n Walk is scheduled from 4 to 7 p.m. Oct. 18 on the grounds of the Lakeside Inn, 100 N. Alexander St., Mount Dora.

Participants are invited to take their four-legged dog for a walk around Lake Dora.

Activities will include an adoptable parade, blessing of the animals, lure course for dog attendees, scavenger hunt, silent auction, music, food concessions and vendors. Jeff Whitfield also will perform. There also will be several speakers including Todd Langston, a canine-behavior specialist from Orange County Pack Life.

The event is presented by Tavares-based Cornerstone Hospice and Palliative Care Pet Peace of Mind program. Trained volunteers assist with tasks including walking dogs, transporting pets to veterinary appointments and bringing pets for visits to owners receiving inpatient care. Volunteers also help plan educational events for the community and create pet outfits, blankets, toys and bandanas that can be sold or raffled to raise money for the program.

There is a limit of one dog per handler. No retractable leashes will be allowed.
